Frequently Asked Questions

Right now I am seeing all of my clients via telehealth.

That depends on several factors, but my goal is to be flexible whenever possible in order to allow you to make a choice based on your need for support.

Some factors that influence the decision you and I make about this:

  • Are you in the midst of an acute challenge that requires a high level of support?
  • Are your starting any new medications that could have unwanted health effects?
  • Do you take a medication that legally requires frequent monitoring?
  • Are you engaged in an integrative support system, or is medical support the only system you have in place?
  • Are you and I collaborating on a holistic health approach that includes social and behavioral support? (For example, community involvement, alternative/integrative support, sleep habits, physical activity, etc.)

Some clients will meet with me as infrequently as once or twice per year while others might need to be seen every week on a temporary basis. Many of my clients meet with me every 1-3 months, and I always seek to nurture a collaborative relationship with effective communication such that you may go as long as you wish without meeting with me.

Yes! I use a holistic, integrative approach with all of my clients. The medicines that we use to promote mental health are a small set of tools among many powerful determinants of your health and overall well-being.

Your path to mental strength is as unique as you. I am here as a facilitator to help connect you with whatever resources you want or need.

Pretty much anyone who is seeking mental health assistance. I have extensive training and clinical experience helping diverse populations address a broad range of challenges to their mental health.

Tell me if you are concerned that your needs might be beyond my ability to help. I am happy to refer you to resources that match your expectations.

Yes! I understand that all medications come with a cost and a benefit, and YOU are the one to decides whether the cost-benefit is working for you. I am happy to work with you to find the unique balance of medical and non-medical interventions that works best for you as an individual.
